Save the world with tea
Sympathy for the Kettle Kettle Teas 109 St. Marks Place East Village NY, NY 10009 212-979-1650
Our East Village shop hours are Monday 11 AM - 6 PM and 11 AM - 10 PM Tuesday thru Sunday. Open limited hours on Monday or shop 24 hours online.
Check our events listing for monthly free tea tastings. In the heat of summer we are having our annual Iced Tea Tasting Saturday July 21st from 11-2. We will be sampling 7 refreshing and hydrating iced teas and herbal tisanes. Demonstrating easy ways to make iced tea and how to naturally sweeten tea - no sugar needed. And of course we will have our popular tea infused pastries to sample.
You will find we are not your average tea retailer. We believe in tea. As an elixir, a life force, for the social quirks it ignites but especially for the families, friends and communities it unifies.
City dwellers and suburbanites merely are the end user to this sustainable, ecofriendly, biodegradable product. Our true appreciation lies in the initial budding stage of tea - our farmers - the small family owned tea estates, the organic and Fair Trade estates, the honey distributor from South Cambridge, NY and local bakeries that use our teas and herbs in our pastries.
We use teas and herbs from China, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Japan, India, Rwanda, Sudan, Egypt, South Africa, Indonesia, France, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, and Argentina. Domestically, we use peppermint from Oregon and ginseng from Wisconsin.
We carry a fair representation of the traditional teas and some pre-blended varieties but the majority of our teas are our own creation. If there is special blend you are looking for email us, we just might have all the ingredients needed to customize your special blend. We also do gift boxes per order, get well packages, for any and all occasions. Email us and we'll be happy to assist.

Freshness, quality and customer service are very important to us. If there is a product you are not satisfied with let us know and we will exchange it. Or, if there is a tea or herb we do not carry let us know and we will try to find it.
